چکیده

This short communication addresses the hypothesis that prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is low in dairy goats Sweden. Methicillin-resistant S. a widespread zoonotic bacterium clinical importance both animals and humans. In Sweden, MRSA rare among However, has been detected few goat herds Sweden with high within-herd occurrence mecC-MRSA, but only limited number were investigated most them not producing milk for human consumption. The known cross-sectional study was therefore conducted. A total 22 bulk samples from same herds, pooled swabs nose, mouth, perineum 113 goats, collected during August September 2019 bacteriological investigation. After culturing on selective media, suspected isolates confirmed as using MALDI-TOF subjected to PCR targeting mecA mecC genes confirm status. No found be positive MRSA, there are no indications spread Swedish herds.

Detection of icaABCD Genes in Clinical Isolates of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus from Patients in Iran

Introduction: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an important pathogen that causes several nosocomial or community-acquired infections. Adhesion to surfaces and subsequent biofilm formation are the major phases of a staphylococcal infection. The aim of this study was to detect the presence of icaABCD genes in clinical isolates of MRSA. Methods: A total of 110 clinical Staphyl...

Genetically divergent methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and sec-dependent mastitis of dairy goats in Taiwan

BACKGROUND Widespread in the environment, Staphylococcus spp. infect animals and humans as normal flora or pathogens. By extending our recent report of multi-drug resistant (MDR) S. aureus in dairy goats, this study investigated the staphylococcal infection and characterized the MDR-S. aureus and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) isolates collected from goats in 2008 to elucidate the appea...

Prevalence of Vancomycin Resistance in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

Background & Aims: Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in nosocomial infections. Vancomycin is the most important therapeutic drug of choice for treatment of infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. Therefore, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or vancomycin-intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (VISA) strains are warning...

Biofilm Formation and Detection of IcaAB Genes in Clinical Isolates of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Objective(s) Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an important cause of nosocomial and community infections. Biofilm formation, mediated by a polysaccharide intercellular adhesin (PIA) and encoded by the ica operon, is considered to be an important virulence factor in both S. epidermidis and S. aureus. However, the clinical impact of the ica locus and PIA production is less w...
